CASE 1: PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS:

45-year-old Indonesian lady came to us for foreign worker medical check up.
Chest X-ray is one of the mandatory investigations for permit application.
History revealed that she has mild cough and shortness of breath on exertion, and lost a few kilos of weight over the past few months. She has no history of pulmonary tuberculosis before.
She was then referred to nearest government facilities for further management.
Chest X-ray showed a typical features of pulmonary tuberculosis – bilateral apical haziness with slight tracheal deviation to the left.
Provisional Diagnosis: Pulmonary Tuberculosis (PTB)
CASE 2: INCIDENTAL FINDING OF ABNORMAL CXR:

64-year-old gentleman, came to us with history of right shoulder pain and reduced range of movement.
Shoulder X-ray was done, however, noted to have abnormal right apical haziness. Chest X-ray(PA) was ordered.

Further history showed that this gentleman has mild chronic cough for weeks. No other significant symptoms.
He was then referred to nearby health facilities for further management.
Provisional Diagnosis: Pulmonary Tuberculosis (PTB)
CASE 3: PULMANARY TUBERCULOSIS:

24-year-old gentleman, presented with 2 weeks history of cough, associated with weight loss of more than 10kg over weeks.
Father has history of PTB 5 years back, completed treatment, currently well.
Chest X-ray done showed left upper and lower zone haziness. He was referred to nearby health facilities for further investigations. Sputum for acid fast bacilli (AFB) showed positive with Ziehl-Neelsen(ZN) stain.
Final Diagnosis: Pulmonary Tuberculosis (PTB)
CASE 4: PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS:

21-year-old gentleman, came to us for pre-employment check up. He has no active complaint.
Chest X-ray is one the required investigations, and it showed bilateral upper zone haziness. He has mild chronic cough only. He is a smoker.
He was then referred to nearby health facilities for further investigations. Meanwhile he is UNFIT to work until the issues has been sorted out.
Provisional Diagnosis: Pulmonary Tuberculosis (PTB)
CASE 5: LEFT PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS:

26 years old gentleman, chronic cough for 2 weeks associated with mild loss of weight.
Chest X-ray done showed left apical haziness.
Provisional Diagnosis: Pulmonary Tuberculosis (PTB)
CASE 6: BILATERAL PLUMONARY TUBERCULOSIS:

26 years old lady, with no known medical illnesses, came to us with one month history of chronic cough. She has mild weight loss.
Chest X-ray(PA) done showed right middle zone haziness and left mid to lower zone haziness.
She was referred to tertiary centre and was confirmed to have pulmonary tuberculosis.
CASE 7: RIGHT PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS, CONFIRMED WITH POSITIVE SPUTUM AFB:

67 years old lady, chronic cough for 4 months, came to us for treatment after multiples visits to other clinics(no X-ray was done).
Chest X-ray done in our clinic showed right apical haziness. Sputum sample was collected immediately and send to lab.

FINAL DIAGNOSIS: PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS
CASE 8: BILATERAL PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS:

36 years old gentleman, presented to us with cough for 2 weeks, associated with mild shortness of breath and low grade fever.
Chest X-ray done showed bilateral mid to upper zone haziness, worst on the right.
