COVID19 Pneumonia

59 years old lady, came to us in March 2020 for prolonged fever, cough and mild shortness of breath.

She has underlying hypertension & asthma(under Seretide Accuhaler). At that time, in Sarawak, Malaysia, we have not declared to have any COVID19 cases yet.

On examination, patient was tachypnoeic with respiratory rate of 20/min, T37.7C, and there were coarse crepitation over both mid to lower zone.

Chest X-ray done and showed bilateral mid to lower zone pneumonic changes. She was then referred to tertiary centre for further management.

2 days later, we received a call from the hospital, patient’s COVID19 PCR turned out to be POSITIVE. During the admission, patient’s overall condition deteriorated, and was warded in ICU with intubation for days.

She recovered well later.

FINAL DIAGNOSIS: CAT 5 COVID19 PNEUMONIA
